At one point, I found myself in a place where my life was beginning to completely unravel. Instead of ending up in thousands of shatters on the ground, I am grateful that I was able to use this process to find the medium of expression that had always been missing from my life.
I find myself coming back again and again to the visuals I could achieve with acrylic paints on the reverse side of recycled windows. My approach has been heavily influenced by bold colors and geometric and architectural themes, finding inspiration from shapes and patterns as diverse as nature photography, film backdrops, textiles, interior design and everyday objects.
Half the time, I am a full time father of two amazing children. The only time I have been challenged to a fight, I was dressed as the Skipper from Gilligan’s Island. I am an attorney with over a decade of experience in regulatory compliance. My grandmother lives under an assumed name and for a short time she painted claiming it was all at the direction of a Spanish ghost. I was born in Ohio and have lived in Florida, Los Angeles and Connecticut. At age ten I was regularly doing people’s taxes and at age thirteen I would do computer consulting work posing as a college student. I am certified to conduct insurance company examinations and have a degree in Criminology. The one time I have been married, it was to someone I was debatably not dating at the time. I am not a baseball fan, but have appeared in the nationally televised broadcast of the final game of a World Series. I graduated college when I was nineteen. I went to high school in a Florida town which was founded by and still very much occupied by circus sideshow performers. I spent seven years working at a record label where I accidentally found four unreleased John Fahey songs and once wrote a fake biography that was distributed to thousands in an employee newsletter.
These days you can find me by the side of the road picking up an old window someone left out for free or trying to work through the stack growing in my shed.
